Handbook Amendments
  • Beginning in September, 2009, the faculty has been working on a new formulation of our school's Mission Statement (the school Philosophy was completely reviewed and updated in the previous year).  The Mission Statement is intended to be a one line summary of what is most fundamental in the philosophy of the school. On Monday, October 11, 2010, in the presence of Brother William Campbell of the National Catholic Education Association, the new Mission Statement was presented for the first time at the meeting of the Strategic Planning Committee (composed of the Pastor, Administration, Teachers, Parents, Parishoners, Local Business Representatives and Alumni). This is now the official Mission Statement of the school, effective October 11, 2010 and replaces the former text in the student/parent handbook:

In the noble tradition of Catholic education, with Christ as teacher and guide, St. John the Baptist School prepares the way for students to build a civilization of love in this world and know the fullness of God’s love in the next.
